The International Gaming Awards (IGA) 2014 recently took place and plenty of awards were handed out. Some of the biggest names in the industry attended this year’s event, which originally started back in 2008, so let’s take a look at some of this year’s winners.

The Corporate Services Supplier of the Year award (sponsored by Mr Green) went to a leading e-wallet called Skrill. 7Red Casino won the Gaming Industry Fair Play award (sponsored by Yggdrasil Gaming). The Socially Responsible Operator of the Year award (sponsored by Galaxy Entertainment Gaming) went to IGT and the Slot Operator of the Year award (sponsored by Optimal Payments) went to Williams Interactive/Jackpot Party Casino.

The Online Gaming Operator of the Year award (sponsored by Williams Interactive) went to Cherry Casino and the Online Poker Operator of the Year award (also sponsored by Optimal Payments) went to PokerStars. The iGaming Software Supplier award (sponsored by PokerStars) went to Playtech.

The Innovator of the Year Award (also sponsored by PokerStars) went to Net Entertainment and one of the most prestigious awards, the Online Casino Operator of the Year award (sponsored by Playtech), went to Mr Green (online casino). These were just some of the main awards that we thought you might be interested in.

Speaking about receiving one of these awards was one of the recipients, the President and CEO of Net Entertainment, Per Eriksson, “Innovation is a vital part of Net Entertainment’s DNA and it’s a huge achievement to be recognised for our hard work at the International Gaming Awards. Microgaming recently announced towards the end of January and also early in February that it had obtained several new licensing agreements to develop some new online slot machines, all of which should arrive at some point later on in the year.

This software giant signed an agreement with Studiocanal S.V to develop a new Terminator 2: Judgement Day themed slot. They signed an agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing to produce several Jurassic Park themed slots and they also signed an agreement with HBO Global Licensing to develop a Game of Thrones themed slot. These slots were all previewed in London between February 4th and 6th at this year’s ICE Totally Gaming event.

Also at this event, NetEnt unveiled plans for a new Aliens™ themed slot machine and this new slot is scheduled to arrive in casinos on 24th April, 2014. “Aliens™ is a genuine classic and we’re very pleased to announce our newest best–in-class video slot as we continue to drive the online casino market forward through better games.
